THE ABSENCE Comments On Upcoming Tour With AMON AMARTH

Tampa melodic trash outfit THE ABSENCE will support Swedish Viking metallers AMON AMARTH on their North American tour in October.

Commented THE ABSENCE: "It's been a long time coming! This is truly a tour that we have hoped for since we became a part of the Metal Blade family. AMON AMARTH are an awesome band that we respect and look up to not only as musicians but as fans too. This tour will hopefully be a lot of fun and we are totally excited about it! We are a supporting act for the 21-day trek and we need you guys our fans to come out to the shows early and show us some headbanging fury! We'll see you out there."

THE ABSENCE's sophomore CD, "Riders of the Plague", was released on August 7, 2007 via Metal Blade Records. The album was recorded at Mana Studios in Florida with Swedish producer Jonas Kjellgren (SCAR SYMMETRY, CARNAL FORGE). Mixing duties were handled by Jonas at his Black Lounge studios in Avesta, Sweden. The CD features guest appearances by guitarists James Murphy (DEATH, TESTAMENT),Jonas Kjellgren, Per Nilsson (SCAR SYMMETRY) and Santiago Dobles (AGHORA) as well as guest vocals by Jonas Granvik (WITHOUT GRIEF, EDGE OF SANITY).
