THANATOS Seek New Label Home

June 5, 2006

Long-running Dutch death/thrash metal band THANATOS have posted the following message on their official web site:

"Bad luck seems to persecute THANATOS. During the recordings of their fifth full-length album, 'Justified Genocide', in the Excess studios in Rotterdam, Holland, the band found out that their label, Black Lotus Records, more or less called it quits. Since the label was supposed to finance the recordings, the remaining recording sessions have been postponed. Three songs from earlier sessions will be used for a promo CD to generate interest from new labels. One of the new songs, a rough mix of 'March of the Infidels', can be heard at www.myspace.com/thanatos666. Meanwhile, the band's long awaited two-track seven-inch EP (limited edition) [featuring the songs 'And Jesus Wept' and a cover of DARK ANGEL's 'The Burning of Sodom'] is available now for a lousy €5 (Europe) / U.S. $5 (rest of the world)." More information is available at this location.

THANATOS's new album is scheduled to feature nine or 10 songs, including "They Feed On Fear", "The Devil's Triangle", "March of the Infidels", "Upwards Spritual Evolution" and "The Netherworld". The artwork will be handled by German artist Timo Wuerz.

THANATOS' fourth CD, "Undead. Unholy. Divine" (2004),was produced by Hans Pieters and the band at Excess and was mastered by Attie Bauw (JUDAS PRIEST, SCORPIONS, GOREFEST).
