TESTAMENT Guitarist Checks In From The Road

June 3, 2009

Guitarist Alex Skolnick of San Francisco Bay Area thrashers TESTAMENT — who launched a North American headlining tour in early May with support from UNEARTH and LAZARUS A.D. — has issued the following update:

"We're in the homestretch of the tour and it's hard to believe it's almost over. This one really whizzed by, as we've hit a lot of places we were long overdue to play, such as Atlanta, New Orleans and St. Louis. Despite the fact that TESTAMENT, UNEARTH and LAZARUS A.D. are three different generations of bands, there is a strong sense of camaraderie. Highlights include Sayreville, New Jersey, where we were joined on stage for 'Disciples Of The Watch' by Sirius XM Liquid Metal host Jose Mangin [see video below], proving that he can sing metal, as well as spin it. At that same show, Buzz from UNEARTH did a stage dive, causing the wrath of a security guard who, not realizing who he was tried to throw him out unsuccessfully, as we watched from the stage (it was a wild night). More and more fans have been participating in the VIP packages, and it's been fun to get to know them better and let them in on the set up process with the shows. We're in the great state of Texas now, working our way west. Just over a week to go before we wrap in California for the last three gigs, San Diego, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Thanks to all the fans for making this a great tour for all three bands!"

Alex Skolnick will make an appearance at the National Guitar Workshop between June 27 and July 2 in McLean, Virginia.

The National Guitar Workshop is dedicated to bringing the best in music education to guitarists, bassists, keyboardists, drummers and vocalists regardless of style of music or level of ability. The NGW acclaimed faculty and world-renowned guest artists, combined with highly developed courses and supportive learning environment, foster meaningful experiences through performance instruction, jamming and master classes.
