TED NUGENT To Be Featured On 'Celebrity Hobbies' Show

March 25, 2004

Paul Fletcher of the Jackson Citizen Patriot is reporting that Ted Nugent's bow hunting and shooting activities will be the subject of an upcoming episode of "Celebrity Hobbies", a show in its second season on the DYI Network. Each half-hour episode spotlights celebrities at home, in the studio or workshop as they share their hobbies.

During an interview with producer Tanya Green, Nugent, known for his passion for hunting and eating what he kills, had to set the record straight concerning the show's title.

"My hunting is not a hobby," he said. "It's life and death. Death is beautiful, whether it's on the grill (or) at the end of a good life."

The interview portion was filmed in Nugent's office, where he sat on a couch surrounded by bear skins and dozens of stuffed and mounted animals he's killed in some 50 years of hunting.

"I hunt 200 days a year," he said.

Nugent was hard pressed to distinguish what gave him the most pleasure — hunting or performing in front of his legions of fans.

"They're both awe-inspiring, intense, gratifying, primal — extremely primal," he said. "It's better than a wolf ripping the guts out of a caribou."
