TAZ TAYLOR BAND To Release 'Straight Up' This Month

March 4, 2009

TAZ TAYLOR BAND will release its new album, "Straight Up", on March 27 via Escape Music. According to a press release, the CD contains "11 tracks of pure, raw, heartfelt hard rock with all the attributes you would expect from TTB plus a whole lot more!"

The TAZ TAYLOR BAND — whose touring lineup previously included legendary hard rock vocalist Graham Bonnet (RAINBOW, MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP, ALCATRAZZ, IMPELLITTERI) — in January announced the addition of singer Keith Slack to the group's ranks. According to the band, "Keith will probably be most notably known to TTB fans for his work with MSG on the '99 Unforgiven world tour and the subsequent double live album release, as well as his work with MUDPIE, STEELHOUSE LANE and others. Keith is a real find for the band."

Regarding the upcoming CD, the group states, "After returning from Europe in April of last year, there was an intense three months of writing after which Taz and drummer Val Trainor 'took it back to the garage days.' We demoed, rehearsed and demoed again throughout August/September 2009. Basic tracks were layed down at Blitz recording studios in San Diego in just three days in late September. A very live and edgy feel was captured! Guitar solos and keyboards were added the following week. In November, one day after getting off the road with DEEP PURPLE, Don Airey did us the honor of playing piano and strings on the album's title track! December... enter into the picture the incredible Keith Slack on vocals! Keith was exactly what we were looking for... and then some!"

TAZ TAYLOR BAND last year released a concert DVD entitled "Live in Prague - Ultimate Bootleg" via its official web site. This complete unedited performance shows the band in top form performing 19 songs, including tracks from its CD release "Welcome To America" featuring Graham Bonnet on lead vocals. Also featured are several hits from Graham Bonnet's career with RAINBOW and MSG as well as tracks from Taz Taylor's solo instrumental CD "Caffeine Racer".
