SYSTEMATIC Recruit Former ECHO 3/MAXIMUM PENALTY Bassist
San Francisco Bay Area's SYSTEMATIC have reportedly recruited former ECHO 3/MAXIMUM PENALTY bassist John Mark Bechtel (a.k.a. Johnny Chow) to replace Nick St. Denis, who left the group earlier in the year (he has since joined PRIMATE as that band's second guitarist).
As previously reported, SYSTEMATIC will begin recording their much-anticipated sophomore release on September 23rd in Los Angeles. The album — the group's first to feature former SLAYER drummer Paul Bostaph — will be produced by Howard Benson, who had previously worked with P.O.D., MOTÖRHEAD, SEPULTURA and CRAZY TOWN, among others. An early 2003 release through Elektra Records is expected.
