SUN CAGED Part Ways With Bassist, Seek Replacement

Longtime SUN CAGED bassist Rob Van Der Loo has officially left the band. "Of course, we regret his decision, but despite that we respect his reasons. Rob is going into a totally new musical direction, and he was not happy anymore playing the music of SUN CAGED," the group write on their web site. "Rob will stay close to the band, regarding the friendship we have with him, and we truly wish him the best in his musical career and his new direction."

"Rob will play with us for the last time at Thursday, April 27th in 013 in Tilburg, The Netherlands. SUN CAGED drummer Roel Van Helden will play his Conservatorium graduation concert this day and afterwards we will play a set with SUN CAGED."

"For the people who might fear that this affects SUN CAGED in a bad way: No worries ! The band is very strong, and we are convinced that we will find a replacement soon. The recordings of our new album won't be postponed, we will enter the studio in April 2006 as planned."

As previously reported, SUN CAGED have uploaded a demo version of a new track, called "Unborn", at their MySpace.com page, www.myspace.com/suncaged.

"Unborn" is one of several new songs SUN CAGED recorded in late 2005 as part of the pre-production process for their new album.

SUN CAGED are scheduled to enter the studio in April to begin recording the follow-up to their self-titled debut, tentatively due before the end of the year. Other songtitles set to appear on the new CD include "Dialogue", "City Walls", "Re-Enter The Dream", "Doldrums", "Afraid To Fly", "Engelbert", "Blood Lines", "A Fair Trade" and "Missing Third".

SUN CAGED's debut was released in 2003 through Finland's Lion Music. The album was mixed by AYREON/STAR ONE mastermind Arjen Anthony Lucassen.
