SUFFOCATION Announces 'Blood Apocalypse' North American Headlining Tour

In celebration of their 20th anniversary, New York's extreme metal legends SUFFOCATION will embark on the "Blood Apocalypse" tour with support from WHITECHAPEL, DECREPIT BIRTH and VEIL OF MAYA as well as PSYCROPTIC on select dates.

Comented drummer Mike Smith: "We are looking forward to this upcoming tour and playing with all the bands involved. It will be the first run on our 20-year celebration in the genre! We thank all our friends and fans in advance for their participation in the upcoming 'Blood Oath' sessions across the world. We look forward to the mayhem it will create!"

SUFFOCATION will enter the studio on January 31 with Joe Cincotta (who worked on the band's last two releases) to begin recording its new album, "Blood Oath", for a tentative spring/summer release via Nuclear Blast Records. The follow-up to 2006's self-titled record will be mixed by Zack Ohren (ALL SHALL PERISH, DECREPIT BIRTH) and cover artwork will once again be brought to life by Jon Zig (DEEDS OF FLESH, DISGORGE, GORGASM). Songtitles set to appear on the CD include "Dismal Dream", "Undeserving", "Confines of Disillusion", "Blood Oath", "Come Hell Or High Priest" and "Provoking the Disturbed".

SUFFOCATION recently completed a North American tour as direct support to reactivated British extreme metal pioneers CARCASS. The package also included 1349, ABORTED and ROTTEN SOUND.
