STRATOVARIUS Leader TOLKKI: TIMO KOTIPELTO Won't Rehearse With Me

January 26, 2004

STRATOVARIUS leader Timo Tolkki has posted the following message on the band's official web site:

"I just came back from Germany where I visited [drummer] Jörg [Michael] to talk about how to handle the upcoming festival shows and spent some holidays.

"Our management has been in contact to all band members plus Kotipelto and Jörg in order to arrange rehearsals for these shows. Timo Kotipelto has refused to participate on the rehearsals 'as long Timo Tolkki is in the same room'. This means that we go to Piorno Rock festivals quite unprepared. I still hope that he changes his mind about this though. The rehearsals have been scheduled to be held in Dortmund Germany between 23-26.2. This will be the first from the 11 shows that mark the end of the previous line up.

"I have continued writing & demoing new songs with MissK and the results sound absolutely fantastic. 'PopKiller' is starting to take shape towards a direction not even I myself expected.

"I have received lots of positive messages lately from STRATOVARIUS fans regarding the line-up change. It seems most of the people have accepted the departure of Jörg and Kotipelto and have also accepted MissK. This feels good, thank You for your support.

"MissK sends you her love & kisses and thanks for Your support as well.

"I was in 'Harakanpesä', a Finnish talk show equivalent to 'David Letterman Show' and had a great time there as well. I was later out drinking with Jari & his fiancee Heidi, Mr. Timo Isoaho, a long time journalist friend and Gizmo J, the bass player of BOMFUNK MCs, one of the biggest selling bands Finland has ever produced. The night ended up in a local club called HELLÄ, in which lots of people came to me and gave me their support. I signed lots of autographs, talked to lots of nice people and listened to DEICIDE. They fucking rule man! Oh yeah and offered beer worth of 500 Euros to people I've never met before. I guess I can afford that now.

"The morning after I woke up, brushed my teeth and vomited and took a cab to the airport and flew to Helsinki. And now I am writing this to all you good people.

"Take good care of yourself because I seem not being able to do it for myself."

Pictures of Tolkki's German trip can be viewed at this location.
