STORMLORD Signs With LOCOMOTIVE RECORDS

February 22, 2008

Italian "extreme epic metal" band STORMLORD has signed a deal with Locomotive Records (GRAVE DIGGER, ASTRAL DOORS, BENEDICTUM) for the release of its long-awaited fourth full-length album, titled "Mare Nostrum".

Commented the group: "We are so excited about this new deal. Locomotive Records is one of the leading labels in metal scene and they will grant a worldwide availability to our new album."

STORMLORD entered The Outer Sound Studios (NOVEMBRE, NECRODEATH, KLIMT 1918) last month with producer Giuseppe Orlando to begin recording the CD, which is scheduled for a May release. "This album is such a great bet for us, it'll see STORMLORD going back to an epic sound near to our first album 'Supreme Art Of War' that almost ten years ago was able to influence tons of bands still growing strong in the scene, even if the style of our recent albums will not be missing," the band saud. "You'll find some surprises like an acoustic song, folk instruments and even some sitar parts, everything mixed with an extreme-epic attitude like it was back in the days, but with the nowadays production and a well developed technical skill."

"The Legacy – 17 Years of Extreme Epic Metal", a double "best-of" collection from STORMLORD, is being released today (February 22) through Scarlet Records. The first CD contains 13 songs spanning the band's 17-year career as of one of Europe's most respected metal merchants, including the rare EP "Under the Sign of the Sword", originally released in 1997. The second CD contains a full live show recorded in Montreal on June 14, 2006 during the band's Canadian tour.
