STONE TEMPLE PILOTS Guitarist's Wife Files For Divorce, Alleges Abuse

June 25, 2018

According to TMZ, STONE TEMPLE PILOTS guitarist Dean DeLeo's wife has filed for divorce, accusing her husband of being an abusive father with a drinking problem.

Jenn DeLeo alleges in the documents that her husband made violent threats to her, admitted he was cheating and told her to get out of the house in front of their 6-year-old daughter, June. She also claims Dean threatened to kill himself "like their personal friend, Chester Bennington" of the band LINKIN PARK if she left him, and once took their baby into the ocean "while he was completely inebriated."

Jenn also says Dean physically assaulted her after a drinking binge when she found him in the garage passed out with the car running and the garage door closed. She says he's attempted to strangle her several times over the years.

Jenn also accuses Dean of abusing his son from a previous marriage and telling her he could have his ex-wife killed.

STP's self-titled seventh studio effort was released on March 16 and is the band's first with new singer Jeff Gutt.

Gutt made his live debut with the band last November in Los Angeles. The band recently did its first round of dates in support of the new album and will join forces with BUSH and THE CULT for the first time this summer for the "tri-headlining" "Revolution 3 Tour". The North American amphitheater trek begins on July 18 in Nashville and will hit an additional 19 cities over six weeks before concluding in Phoenix, Arizona on September 2. Each group will perform a full set in a different order each night.
