STONE TEMPLE PILOTS Bassist And Wife Expecting Second Son This Month

May 10, 2010

According to The Pulse of Radio, STONE TEMPLE PILOTS bassist Robert DeLeo has a busy schedule ahead, and not just because the band is releasing its first all-new album in nine years. DeLeo told The Pulse of Radio that he's got another big event coming in a few weeks that will make life even more hectic. "With a wife and a four-year-old son right now, and another son coming at the end of May, this year is definitely gonna be a year for me personally of wearing a lot of hats," he said. "I've got a record being released on May 25 and a son coming on May 28 and then a tour that's gonna take me up to the end of 2011, so it's gonna be a juggle. But I'm up for it."

STONE TEMPLE PILOTS recently shot a music video for "Between The Lines", the first single from their forthcoming self-titled album.

A deluxe version of the record containing expanded artwork and two bonus tracks will also be available, while Target will offer a CD/DVD version of the set with exclusive interview content. Walmart, meanwhile, will air an exclusive STP performance in stores and on its Soundcheck web site.

The new record is STP's first since 2001's "Shangri-La-Dee-Da". A seven-year hiatus came to an end in 2008 when the band announced a reunion tour.

STP has a slew of TV appearances coming up to promote the new CD. The group will perform on the May 19 edition of "Late Show with David Letterman", will be featured on VH1's "Friday Night Alright" concert series on Friday, May 21, and appear on the May 25 episode of "Jimmy Kimmel Live!"
