STEVE MORSE Talks DEEP PURPLE, FLYING COLORS At NAMM (Video)

TC Electronic conducted an interview with guitarist Steve Morse (DEEP PURPLE, DIXIE DREGS, FLYING COLORS) at this year's NAMM (National Association Of Music Merchants) show, which took place January 23-26 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California. You can now watch the chat below.

DEEP PURPLE's first new studio set since 2005, called "Now What?!", sold 4,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 115 on The Billboard 200 chart. Bob Ezrin, who is best known for his work with PINK FLOYD ("The Wall", "Momentary Lapse Of Reason" and "The Division Bell"),PETER GABRIEL ("Peter Gabriel"),KISS ("Destroyer", "Music From 'The Elder'"),AEROSMITH ("Get Your Wings"),LOU REED ("Berlin"),and ALICE COOPER ("School's Out", "Billion Dollar Babies", "Welcome To My Nightmare"),among others, was behind the boards for the new set.

The current lineup of DEEP PURPLE is: Ian Gillian on vocals, Roger Glover on bass, Ian Paice on drums, Steve Morse on guitar, and Don Airey on keyboards.

FLYING COLORS — the band featuring Morse, LaRue, Mike Portnoy (drums, vocals),Neal Morse (keyboards, vocals) and Casey McPherson (vocals, guitars) — has completed writing material for its second album, to be released before the end of 2014.

Mascot Label Group released FLYING COLORS "Live In Europe" on October 14, 2013 via the Music Theories Recordings label on Blu-ray, DVD, 2CD, limited-edition 3LP Vinyl and digital download (iTunes, mastered for iTunes, Amazon MP3).

The concert release captures the band live in Tilburg, Netherlands at 013 on September 20, 2012. Directed and edited by Bernhard Baran (GUNS 'N' ROSES, THE CURE, PORCUPINE TREE) with Bill Evans as executive producer, the concert presents the entire studio album, alongside popular favorites performed by the individual members of the band.

The self-titled debut album from FLYING COLORS sold 6,300 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 81 on The Billboard 200 chart.
