STEVE JONES And His 'Jonesy's Jukebox' Radio Show Bid Farewell To INDIE 103.1 Listeners

January 16, 2009

After five years as host of the flagship Indie 103.1 radio show "Jonesy's Jukebox", Steve Jones is currently exploring other options and is in talks to expand "Jonesy's Jukebox" due to yesterday's (January 15) announcement that Los Angeles radio station Indie 103.1 has ceased broadcasting.

The SEX PISTOLS guitarist and music icon was heard by fans around the world on "Jonesy's Jukebox" — via Indie 103.1 and its web site — for two hours every weekday since 2004. Jones is known for breaking new artists and his eclectic musical taste, which he brought to the show every day. Based on his vast musical knowledge and longtime commitment to music (supporting both icons and up-and-coming artists),his interviews were both personal and freewheeling. Many artists came away from interviews with Jones feeling that it was the best experience they'd ever had with a radio interview.

"I want to thank everybody for listening to the show and supporting the station," says Jones. "It was an experience I truly enjoyed and the support I got from my fans and artists who came on the show was just incredible. I'd like to think we broke some rules and that everyone had a bloody good time. Thanks for listening."

Stay tuned for information about "Jonesy's Jukebox" in the coming weeks.
