STARZ Guitarist Detained At JFK Airport, Misses Live Album Recording

September 24, 2004

Legendary '70s hard rockers STARZ played in Cleveland Thursday night (Sept. 23) at the Beachland Ballroom minus guitarist Brenden Harkin. Brenden missed the plane to Cleveland after being detained by airport security for unspecified reasons in New York's Kennedy airport for over three hours. He was eventually released but could not get on the last flight to Cleveland because the plane was full. The band, who had driven in the night before and features four of the five original members (bassist Peter Sweval passed away in 1990),ended up performing as a four-piece. To add to the frustrations, STARZ recorded the show for an upcoming "live" album. The packed crowd didn't seem to mind as the band tore through a set lasting just under two hours. The set list was as follows:

01. Live Wire
02. Detroit Girls
03. (She's Just A) Fallen Angel
04. Rock Six Times
05. Subway Terror
06. Nightcrawler
07. Monkey Business
08. Cool One
09. Pull The Plug
10. Cherry Baby
11. Third Time's The Charm
12. Take Me
13. She
14. Coliseum Rock
15. It's A Riot
16. So Young, So Bad
17. X-Ray Spex
18. Outfit
19. Boys In Action
