STARWOOD: LIZZY BORDEN Under A Different Name

July 26, 2004

Although promoted as a fresh young act in a similar mold to THE DARKNESS, the recent Metal Blade signing STARWOOD is in fact Eighties heavy metal band LIZZY BORDEN in an all-new guise, according to RockDetector.com. The band comprise vocalist Lizzy (Borden),guitarist Joe Steals, bassist Marten Andersson and drummer Joey Scott (Scott-Harges).

Borden and Scott were the founding members of LIZZY BORDEN, having recorded seven albums previously, commencing in 1984 with the 12" EP "Give 'Em The Axe", this fact oddly neglected on STARWOOD's official biography. Steals had previously been a member of DIAMOND DOGS while Andersson had toured with the GEORGE LYNCH band in early 2004 and held a prior track record with LEGACY, JONAS HANSSON BAND and TAKARA.

STARWOOD's debut album, "If It Ain't Broke, Break It!", is scheduled for release on July 27 through Metal Blade. The complete track listing for the effort is as follows:

01. Subculture (mp3 clip)
02. Won't Back Down (mp3)
03. What's Your Damage
04. All My Girlfriends Have Boyfriends (mp3 clip)
05. Social Zero
06. If It Ain't Broke, Break It!
07. Backlash
08. You're So Real
09. Bad Machine
