STARBREAKER Guitarist Collaboratng With Ex-YNGWIE MALMSTEEN Singer MARK BOALS

July 31, 2007

STARBREAKER guitarist Magnus Karlsson has been busy in the past few months. After completing the songwriting and production for the second ALLEN/LANDE instalment "The Revenge", Magnus worked on a brand new record with ex-YNGWIE MALMSTEEN and RING OF FIRE singer Mark Boals. This CD, entitled "The Codex", is going to be a slightly heavier affair compared to the most recent efforts from Magnus and will mark Boals' return to the scene after a three-year hiatus. A December release is expected.

Not content with this, Karlsson is already in very advanced stages for the songwriting of the sixth BOB CATLEY solo album. For this record Magnus dug deep in his Celtic and epic hard rock influences and gave the material anyway a heavier edge, similar in places to Catley's "When Empires Burn", with an obvious nod to the MAGNUM sound. Production on the album will be handled by none other than Dennis Ward (PINK CREAM 69).

Also on the Karlsson-related front, former TNT singer Tony Harnell has planned a songwriting trip to Sweden in August to write with Magnus for the new STARBREAKER album. More details will be made available soon.
