SONATA ARCTICA Guitarist Interviewed At U.K.'s HARD ROCK HELL Festival

December 19, 2009

Barry Anderson of Metal Storm conducted an interview with guitarist Elias Viljanen of Finnish melodic metallers SONATA ARCTICA at this year's Hard Rock Hell festival, which was held December 4-5, 2009 at Pontins in Prestatyn Sands. North Wales, United Kingdom. Watch the chat in two parts below.

SONATA ARCTICA was forced to cancel three shows last month (Graz, Vienna and Munich) due to singer Tony Kakko's infection of vocal cords.

SONATA ARCTICA will embark on a North American headlining tour in the spring. Support will come from MUTINY WITHIN and POWERGLOVE. Tickets are on sale through EnterTheVault.com and all normal ticketing systems.

"The Days Of Grays", the new album from SONATA ARCTICA, sold around 2,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The CD landed at position No. 19 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.

"The Days Of Grays" was released on September 22 in North America through Nuclear Blast Records.
