SOLEMNITY To Release New Album In February

October 3, 2007

Germany's SOLEMNITY has issued the following update:

"The last months were a very chaotic time indeed. First of all, our SPINAL TAP-like search for a drummer which has ended as you already know. We have started recording then the first parts of our new album [tentatively titled 'Lords of the Damned'] and suddenly technical problems have thrown a tremendous shadow on the whole project which are finally history as well. At the moment, we are about to record our lead guitars and though our forthcoming daddy Frank awaits his first child, we hope to have done this in the next few weeks.

"You probably all know that all guys in SOLEMNITY have other time-killing jobs which have priority to us so we are limited on the weekends to forge our new masterpiece. Nevertheless expect the biggest thing to be that will hopefully be released around February 2008. For the first time ever we are recording with a big choir this time so expect the most epic album ever though we have recovered our thrash and power metal roots. So you can't imagine?! You will see and definitely HEAR!!!"

SOLEMNITY was joined in June drummer Harry Reischmann, who previously played with LIGEIA and MAD MIXX.

SOLEMNITY's limited-edition 10-inch vinyl containing a classical version of BATHORY's "One Rode to Asa Bay" backed with a cover of LIZZY BORDEN's "There will be Blood Tonight" was released in January.

SOLEMNITY recorded "One Rode to Asa Bay" with the help of the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra at the Ulmer Münster Cathedral in Ulm, Germany, which is said to be the highest Catholic church on earth. "This was the place to call on the ancient Gods and show Quorthon and all the Ases in Valhalla that they triumphed at last," the band said in a statement. "You will hear the original medieval church organ, string quartets, female and male choirs, timpanis, mouthdrums and things you can't imagine. All LIVE from the Ulmer Münster on 64-tracks!!"

SOLEMNITY's third album, "Shockwave of Steel", was released in 2005. An EP, entitled "Another Bloody Sabbath", followed in April 2006.
