SOILWORK Singer Offers Vocal Coaching

October 29, 2008

Vocalist Björn "Speed" Strid of the Swedish metallers SOILWORK has issued the following update:

"Back home in the cold, getting pumped for the European tour that will start in just about a week!

"I was going through my MySpace page the other day and realized that there are LOADS of messages that I haven't been able to answer. A big portion of those emails contains questions about singing techniques, tips, how to develop the voice or just how to take your band or singing to the next skill level.

"First of all, I wanna apologize for not being very efficient in answering all those messages! However, it gave me an idea on how to address all of those questions in a better way:

"I'm happy to announce that I'm venturing into the realm of vocal coaching/consulting here in Sweden as well as ON TOUR in your hometown. All you need to do is bring your band's music (demo or signed, doesn't matter!),your vocal cords and your questions or concerns and in return, you get the honest opinion of an experienced vocalist. I'll meet with you one on one at your local venue where the SOILWORK show will take place, acoustics will be great for singing, and together we'll discuss tips and tricks on improving your vocal skills. I will give you advice on figuring out melodies or just inspire you and your band on ways to reach the next level! Like I said, I will continue this venture back home in Sweden, so if you're interested and able to get to Helsingborg, we can work that out as well! Make sure to check out when SOILWORK hits your town and please contact me at least three days in advance, then get ready to flex your vocal cords! Shoot an email: [email protected]. Serious offers only, no meet-and-greets. A fee will be collected for each one-on-one 30-minute consultation."

SOILWORK was recently rejoined by guitarist Peter Wichers.

SOILWORK will be on tour with ONE-WAY MIRROR in Europe this November and December. Shortly after, the band will headline a massive North American tour to begin in late January 2009 with DARKANE, WARBRINGER, and SWALLOW THE SUN.

Capital Chaos posted video footage of SOILWORK performing on March 31, 2008 at The Boardwalk in Orangevale, California. Watch the clip below.
