SOILWORK, BACKYARD BABIES, AVATAR Confirmed For Sweden's CLOSE-UP BÅTEN 2008

SOILWORK, BACKYARD BABIES and AVATAR are the first confirmed artists for the Close-Up Båten 2008. Billed as "the cheapest metal cruise on the Baltic Sea," the ferry departs Stockholm, Sweden on February 14, 2008. Three more bands will be announced.

SOILWORK's new album, "Sworn to a Great Divide", is scheduled for release on October 19 via Nuclear Blast Records. The vocals for the CD were recorded in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada with the help of STRAPPING YOUNG LAD mastermind Devin Townsend.

SOILWORK recently announced the addition of guitarist Daniel Antonsson (DIMENSION ZERO, PATHOS) to the group's ranks.

BACKYARD BABIES released its fifth studio full-length album, "People Like People Like People Like Us", in April 2006 via Century Media Records. Two songs off the CD can be previewed at the band's official e-card. A video for the song "Dysfunctional Professional" is available for viewing at this location.

BACKYARD BABIES' 1994 full-length debut, "Diesel and Power", was reissued last year with a bonus track, "Lies", and the video for "Electric Suzy".
