SNAKE RIVER CONSPIRACY: New Live Video Clip Posted Online

November 17, 2004

SNAKE RIVER CONSPIRACY have posted a live video clip of a new song, entitled "Methlehem", at this location.

"Methlehem" is expected to be included on SNAKE RIVER CONSPIRACY's long-awaited sophomore album, tentatively due in early 2005 through an as-yet-undisclosed label.

The follow-up to 2000's "Sonic Jihad" will mark the group's first release with new frontwoman, former DRAIN STH drummer Martina Axen, who replaced previous singer, Tobey Torres, earlier in the year. View video clips from the album recording sessions: Video#1, Video#2.

In a recent posting to the band's official forum, SNAKE RIVER CONSPIRACY mainman Jason Slater explained the reasons for Tobey's departure from the group.

"I worked on and had the music finished for 'Sonic Jihad' before I met Tobey," he said. "I was in a strip club one night and she was dancing there. I needed a singer, she looked good, I sent her to a vocal coach. She came and sang what was written... I finished the record and got us a record deal on the heels of my other band, BROUGHAM.

"Tobey immediately went to the label and said, 'Now that the record's done, I dont need Jason anymore and I want this to be my solo record, we don't need him.' … I had spent two years on the record at that point, and she had spent a total of 13 days recording vocals... Took another month for me to tune them.

"Needless to say, the record company told Tobey that she had nothing without me, no second record, no career etc. etc… It took me a month to convince them that I could control the situation and that Tobey had just made a rash statement. This shit went on in various forms throughout the time she was in the band. She was incapable of being gracious with anyone, nobody in the band could stand her, thus the constant lineup changes and she was without a doubt the most dishonest person I have come across. There are many blanks left unfilled here, but I'll spare you the novel of details.

"Long story short, by the end, she had made another run of taking my music and using it to try and secure herself a gig in the Pussycat Dolls, or some shit like that, and when that didnt pan out, she insisted that I fire everyone in the band three weeks before we were to go on tour with QUEENSRŸCHE, because her friends thought everybody in the band was 'uncool.' I told her I wasnt firing anybody, she told me if I didn't, she was quitting the band. Sounded like a good idea to me, as I had been sick of her shit for years. I was fortunate enough to have met Martina during this time and invited her to join.

"When Tobey found the band had moved forward, and took her on her word, she made up a story about having cancer and wanted to be back in the band because she was dying and wanted to spend her remaining time on earth in SRC ... or some such bullshit. As usual, it was another world-famous Tobey Torres lie, and I didn't believe it for a second. She made a miracle recovery from her 'cancer' and is now somebody else's headache to deal with.

"Tobey never cared about this music, she just wanted to be a fucking star, she asked me to start making Christina Aguilera-style pop songs at one point.. She didnt give a fuck about this music or what went into it."
