SMASHING PUMPKINS Frontman Sues Illinois Filmmaker

August 1, 2008

Beth Kramer of the Waukegan News Sun reports that SMASHING PUMPKINS lead singer Billy Corgan is suing an Illinois filmmaker for allegedly failing to uphold an agreement to film Corgan's performances.

Corgan hired Gurnee's Lester Cohn of Pure DV Productions to film some of Corgan's performances and recording sessions in 2003. Cohn was allegedly paid for his time and expenses for filming from 2003 to 2005.

Corgan alleges Cohn provided only a portion of his work and is holding the rest of the footage hostage for more money.
