SLIPKNOT: Memorial Service For CLOWN's Father To Be Held Today

October 28, 2005

SLIPKNOT have posted the following message on their official web site:

"The memorial service for Michael John Crahan (percussionist Shawn 'Clown' Crahan's dad) will be held Friday (Oct. 28) in Des Moines. Some fans have been asking where they can send flowers. If you wish to do so, you can get in touch with Boesen's Flowers in Des Moines: (800) 274-4761 or www.boesen.com.

"Thanks to everyone for their kind words. Clown and the band really appreciate it."

As previously reported, SLIPKNOT have canceled their Thursday (Oct. 27) and Friday (Oct. 28) concerts in Philadelphia following the death of Clown's father. SLIPKNOT's "Subliminal Verses Tour: The Final Volume" trek is scheduled to resume Sunday (Oct. 30) in New York, and runs through a Nov. 15 gig in Milwaukee.

SLIPKNOT have been touring the U.S. without guitarist Jim Root, who broke his wrist the day before the tour's Oct. 14 kickoff in Cincinnati. Root did the damage when he crashed while mountain biking. He'll be in a cast for at least six weeks and it's unknown if he'll be able to join the band on any of the remaining dates.

SLIPKNOT's live album, "9.0: Live" album, is scheduled for release on November 1 via Roadrunner Records (one day earlier internationally).
