SLASH, RICK NIELSEN Perform With CAMP FREDDY On 'Leno': Photo Available

VELVET REVOLVER guitarist Slash and CHEAP TRICK's Rick Nielsen joined CAMP FREDDY to perform their version of CHEAP TRICK's "Surrender" on NBC-TV's "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" last night (Thursday, October 5). This was CAMP FREDDY's first television appearance since "The Showbiz Show with David Spade" on Comedy Central in late June. CAMP FREDDY guitarist Dave Navarro was unable to make the show due to scheduling conflicts with his other band, THE PANIC CHANNEL.

As previously reported, CAMP FREDDY will also perform this week at an all-star tribute to San Francisco's rockin' past, present and future. The band will play updated versions of classic songs by Bay Area artists at the Oct. 6 event at The Warfield, which benefits music education and disaster relief. They will also play in Costa Mesa on October 20. The group will be playing a special one-hour show at the opening of the new Performing Arts Center in Orange County. This is an invite-only event.

CAMP FREDDY's cover of "Surrender" is the lead single from the movie soundtrack "Employee of the Month". The song features the core CAMP FREDDY lineup of Dave Navarro, Billy Morrison, Matt Sorum and Scott Weiland (VELVET REVOLVER),Donovan Leitch (vocals) and Chris Chaney (bass),and was recorded at Sorum's Drac Studios in Los Angeles. The soundtrack album contains both "Surrender" and CAMP FREDDY's version of MARC BOLAN's "20th Century Boy".

CAMP FREDDY has been in and out of the recording studio over the past couple of years recording what is expected to eventually be released as the band's debut album. Among the cuts that are set to appear on the effort are "20th Century Boy" (also featuring Steve Jones from THE SEX PISTOLS on lead guitar) and THIN LIZZY's "Jailbreak" (featuring ALICE IN CHAINS guitarist Jerry Cantrell on vocals and Billy Duffy [ex-THE CULT] on lead guitar). Other guest musicians include RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS drummer Chad Smith and singer Macy Gray.
