SKITSYSTEM Complete Work On New Album

SKITSYSTEM, the Swedish band which had previously featured in its ranks guitarist/vocalist Tomas Lindberg (ex-AT THE GATES, THE CROWN),have completed work on their new album, "Stigmata", for an early 2006 release. The group's first album in over four years contains 12 new tracks with a total running time of 33-34 minutes.

With regards to the album's title, the band explained that it "refers to the fact that a lot of young people today show more openly that they're a product of today's society. The will to belong and the will to be succesful has never been higher among kids/youngsters today. That will is planted by the nations in the so-called free Western civilization... A lot of young people can't or won't grow into these standards, a lot are driven to alienation, outcasts, freaks etc. To survive it seems like a lot of them causes themselves pain, or marks, by cutting them, I see it as a modern form of 'stigmata,' and has nothing to do with religious shit! I can only see this with pain and I wish that we wouldn't be fed those fuckin' images from fashion mags, ads etc... Take a look around, they are everywhere, so are those young kids cutting themselves!"

Two additional tracks ("Döden Är Min Maskinist" and "Pestbringaren") were also recorded for an upcoming split 7" with German grinders CYNESS, which is scheduled for release next spring/summer. A week-long U.K. tour is tentatively planned for late February 2006.
