SKID ROW Bassist BOLAN To Perform With FRANKENSTEIN 3000

May 18, 2006

East Coast hard rock outfit FRANKENSTEIN 3000 will be joined onstage by SKID ROW bassist Rachel Bolan at a T.REX tribute concert scheduled for Thursday, June 1 at Don Hill's in New York City. FRANKENSTEIN 3000 will be performing a mostly original set, adding a handful of covers including "20th Century Boy", the T.REX song featured on their CD "America's Hit Remakers", as well as a couple RAMONES classics with Rachel Bolan on vocals. There may be a few more surprises for fans of '70s rock, too. Other artists scheduled to appear at the "Glam Rock Tribute to Marc Bolan and T.Rex" include NEW YORK DOLLS guitarist Steve Conte with his band THE FREQUENCIES, Rolan Bolan (Marc Bolan's son) and JEEPSTER (a T.REX cover band from the U.K.). The event is being organized by T.REX fan Marc Regan and proceeds will be donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

As previously reported, FRANKENSTEIN 3000 released a 17-track CD of covers on Main Man Records late last year, entitled "America's Hit Remakers", that boasted such special guests as David Johansen from THE NEW YORK DOLLS and Cherie Currie from THE RUNAWAYS. The CD can be purchased directly from the label here. FRANKENSTEIN 3000 will also be Cherie Currie's backing band for a special show at Don Hill's on June 4.
