SILENTIUM To Begin Mixing New Album This Week

May 21, 2005

Finnish atmospheric doom metallers SILENTIUM have finished recording their new album and are scheduled to begin mixing the effort on Monday (May 23) for a late 2005 release via Dynamic Arts Records.

"During the [recording] sessions [it became] clear the fact that after the whole member changes stuff, SILENTIUM came out as a winner," the band write on their web site. "The SILENTIUM sound has improved and is like never before."

SILENTIUM, who recently announced the addition of vocalist Riina Rinkinen and returning drummer Jari Ojala to the group's ranks, released their third album, "Sufferion - Hamartia of Prudence", in 2003 through Spikefarm Records. Produced by NIGHTWISH mainman Tuomas Holopainen, the CD was recorded at Sundicoop Studio in Savonlinna, Finland and featured a guest appearance by former LULLACRY and current SOULGRIND frontwoman Tanja Kemppainen.
