SIKTH Cancels London And Brighton Shows

Technical metallers SIKTH have been forced to cancel this weekend's (July 7-8) shows in London and Brighton. They will be rescheduled and the tickets for the original dates will be honored.

Commented the band's frontman Mikee Goodman: "I have an inflamed throat caused by a throat virus I have had for over a month now. I tried lots of different medication throughout the month, and then booked an appointment in the ear, nose and throat specialist as soon as I could, which was this week. I was told by my doctor not to sing, shout or whisper for a week. I consulted my old vocal tutor and he agreed with the doctor saying that if I sing I will cause permanent damage to my vocal cords. I am so sorry to everyone and to all those who have travelled far to get to these shows. I really wanted to play this weekend. But did not want this to be the last show I ever sing at. Hope you understand and please come to the rest of the dates we are doing. Anyone who has tickets for Brighton or London more news will follow on rescheduled dates."

SIKTH recently announced that its forthcoming tour under the "This Ain't The Summer Of Love" banner will be the last with singers Mikee Goodman and Justin Hill.

The decision for the frontmen to part company with the North London troupe is an entirely amicable one, with Goodman leaving to pursue other musical activities, including his long-standing SAD SEASON project, another brand new outfit (based in Brighton) plus work on the production side. Hill, meanwhile, is going to focus on the production work that is becoming increasingly successful for him. The remaining four members — guitarists Dan Weller and Pin, drummer Dan "Loord" Foord and bassist James Leach, are now well underway with the writing of the third SIKTH album; already they've amassed a great deal of fresh material guaranteed to further extend the boundaries of progressive metal music.
