SHADOWSIDE: Video Footage Of IRON MAIDEN Support Gig Available

March 29, 2011

Video footage of Brazilian female-fronted metallers SHADOWSIDE performing Sunday night (March 27) at HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil as the opening act for IRON MAIDEN can be viewed below. The quartet used the opportunity to debut three new songs — "I'm Your Mind", "Disrupted Reality" and "Gag Order" — that will appear on SHADOWSIDE's forthcoming third album, "Inner Monster Out", due on June 7 via SHP Records.

MAIDEN was unfortunately forced to cancel its concert on Sunday and reschedule it for tonight (Monday, March 28) due to problems with the security barricade at the venue.

Despite the fact that it was reported on several web sites that SHADOWSIDE would open for MAIDEN again tonight, the concert promoter Mondo Entretenimento ultimately decided to keep only the headlining band on the rescheduled show.

"Inner Monster Out" was produced, mixed and mastered at Studio Fredman in Gothenburg, Sweden by Fredrik Nordström, who has previously worked with AT THE GATES, IN FLAMES, DARK TRANQUILLITY, ARCH ENEMY, SOILWORK and BRING ME THE HORIZON, among others. The title track, "Inner Monster Out", features Björn "Speed" Strid (SOILWORK),Mikael Stanne (DARK TRANQUILLITY) and Niklas Isfeldt (DREAM EVIL) as guest singers.

Commented SHADOWSIDE lead singer Dani Nolden: "'Inner Monster Out' is about letting your hidden persona show through, and about everything we always classify as not normal in human beings. The lyrics deal with everyone's fears, reactions, perversions, personality disorders and although it can be seen as a dark album, it also makes it clear that we all have a little bit of crazy and disturbed in a certain way. It's a musically intense album, with lots of angry guitars, bringing together the best of 'Dare To Dream' and 'Theatre Of Shadows', but with new and better things that we didn't try before. I'm especially proud and happy about the result we achieved on this album... we wrote and recorded songs that we like to hear and play and it's by far our best material so far. I can't wait to have it in my hands and then performing it live!"
