SHADOWS FALL Prepare To 'Take Action'

September 4, 2003

Massachusetts-based thrash metal quintet SHADOWS FALL, arguably this year's breakthrough Ozzfest artist, are gearing up for a full slate this fall. The group, who constantly sold more albums than any other second stage artist for over five weeks in a row, proved that audiences want to hear real metal bands that are not afraid to play solos. This translated into several sold-out off-dates alongside CRADLE OF FILTH and KILLSWITCH ENGAGE. In addition to numerous media accolades Billboard magazine states, "SHADOWS FALL has become one of the most talked about acts on this annual heavy metal extravaganza."

Their new album, "The Art of Balance", has shipped over 130,000 copies, while scanning over 70,000 in just under a year's time. Look for a new video for "The Idiot Box" shot by acclaimed director Zach Merck (BLINDSIDE),who also helmed the highly visible "Destroyer of Senses" clip, to surface in early October. The video will feature live footage from Ozzfest and tons of behind-the-scenes footage.

The group's next move will see them take part in a portion of the 4th annual Take Action Tour 2003 that launches September 11 in Minneapolis and wraps October 12 in Seattle. Confirmed artists on this year's tour include: POISON THE WELL, DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN, FURTHER SEEMS FOREVER, HIMSA, AVENGED SEVENFOLD, DEATH BY STEREO, EIGHTEEN VISIONS and SHAI HULUD, among others. They will follow up this tour with a string of dates with HIMSA, DEATH BY STEREO and THIS DAY FORWARD. Look for a major fall tour announcement very soon.
