SEPULTURA Taps Producer ROY Z. For New Album

November 30, 2010

Brazilian/American thrashers SEPULTURA have tapped Roy Z. (JUDAS PRIEST, HALFORD, BRUCE DICKINSON, HELLOWEEN) to produce their new album, tentatively due in early 2011 via Nuclear Blast Records. The CD will once again be recorded at Trama Studios in São Paulo, Brazil.

The second and third in a series of video clips featuring footage from the writing sessions for SEPULTURA's new LP can be viewed below.

SEPULTURA debuted a brand new song from its upcoming album during its October 17 appearance at the Fúria Festival at HSBC Brasil in São Paulo, Brazil. Fan-filmed video footage of the performance can be viewed below.

SEPULTURA will perform their classic 1991 album, "Arise", in its entirety during the group's headlining performance at the 16-year anniversary of the Manifesto Bar in São Paulo, Brazil on Saturday, December 11.

The group's current lineup includes only two of the four bandmembers who performed on "Arise" — guitarist Andreas Kisser and bassist Paulo Xisto Pinto Jr.

SEPULTURA will return to the U.S. for two exclusive shows in 2011. Joining them will be fellow Brazilian metallers ANGRA.

The details are as follows:

Jan. 13 - House of Blues - Anaheim, CA
Jan. 14 - House of Blues - Hollywood, CA

SEPULTURA has added a special event VIP ticket for a pre-show meet-and-greet to take place one hour before doors. Each night, fans will get to meet and greet SEPULTURA.

VIP and reduced-service charge tickets on sale through EnterTheVault.com.

SEPULTURA's latest album, "A-Lex" — the group's first LP to be recorded without either of the founding Cavalera brothers (Max and Igor; on guitar/vocals and drums, respectively) — sold around 1,600 copies during its first week of release in the United States back in January 2009.

On "A-Lex", guitarist Andreas Kisser and his three colleagues, Derrick Green (vocals),Paulo Jr. and new addition Jean Dollabella, dedicated themselves to Anthony Burgess's book "A Clockwork Orange", creating an awesome thrash metal opus around this timeless and exciting subject. The material was produced by SEPULTURA and Stanley Soares at the Trama Studios and was mastered by George Marino at New York's Sterling Sound studios.
