SEPTICFLESH Guitarist's CHAOSTAR Signs With SEASON OF MIST

February 12, 2010

CHAOSTAR, the Greek band led by SEPTICFLESH guitarist Christos Antoniou, has inked a deal with Season Of Mist. The group's as-yet-untitled new album, which will feature a guest appearance by MOONSPELL frontman Fernando Ribeiro, is due later this year.

Commented Christos: "After six years of silence, I am very pleased to continue my experimental side with Season Of Mist. I know how they work and they understand what CHAOSTAR is about."

He added, "I am thinking to write an 'opera' based on Euripides' drama masterpiece 'Medea'. I will definitely not follow the previous atmosphere only based on 'classical' music. A combination of extreme metal sounds and modern music materials will play a dominant role in the music."

Christos Antoniou studied composition at the London College of Music under the guidance of Martin Ellerby, head of the composition department. He acquired his Bachelor of Music in 1999. In 2000, he continued his studies in composition/orchestration and earned his Master's Degree in concert music. Adam Gorb, head of composition at the Royal Northern College of Music, was among his tutors.

Christos is one of the founding members of SEPTICFLESH, a band that has been existence since 1993. SEPTICFLESH managed to combine various styles of rock, such as gothic /death/black metal, with melodies and classical elements, which earned them respect in the underground scene.

CHAOSTAR's most recent album, "Underworld", came out in 20007 via Holy Records.
