METALLICA 's official web site has been updated with the following message:

"We had such an amazing time last year supporting our local team the San Francisco Giants, the second annual Metallica Night will take place on Friday, May 16, 2014! We'll be there to kick it off with the National Anthem and first pitch, joining the orange and black faithful for the rest of the evening for all kinds of METALLI -fun and games.

"Special event tickets for this game go on sale November 29 at 8:00 a.m. PST. The special event METALLICA ticket package includes a ticket to the game and a limited edition METALLICA / Giants goodie that we'll tell you about at a later date. A portion of the proceeds from every Metallica Night special event ticket will benefit the Little Kids Rock Bay Area Chapter!"

The first Metallica Night took place on May 3 at AT&T Park in San Francisco, home of baseball's San Francisco Giants. Members of METALLICA participated in pre-game festivities which included drummer Lars Ulrich throwing out the ceremonial first pitch and guitarists James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett performing the National Anthem. The custom Giants-themed guitars that were played by the pair were signed immediately following the National Anthem and auctioned off at the Giants Community Clubhouse, with proceeds being shared by the Giants Community Fund and the Bill Graham Memorial Foundation.

In honor of Metallica Night, San Francisco Giants pitcher Barry Zito came by the band's headquarters in San Rafael, California to jam with the band.
