SCOTT WEILAND To Audition For New Ex-GUNS N' ROSES Band?

According to former GUNS N' ROSES guitarist Slash's Official Fan Site (www.snakepit.org),STONE TEMPLE PILOTS singer Scott Weiland is one of the singers currently auditioning for the vocalist slot in the new band formed by Slash and fellow ex-Gunners Duff McKagan (bass) and Matt Sorum (drums). Other singers known to have tried out for the position include Sebastian Bach (ex-SKID ROW),Kelly Shaefer (ex-NEUROTICA, ATHEIST),Travis Meeks (DAYS OF THE NEW),Mike Matijevic (STEELHEART),Pat Briggs (PSYCHOTICA),A. Jay Popoff (LIT),and Joshua Todd (ex-BUCKCHERRY).

Scott Weiland is reportedly finishing up work on his second solo album with producer Josh Abraham (STAIND, ORGY, CRAZY TOWN). Among the tracks set to appear on the as-yet-untitled effort are "Drop That Baby", "If Only I Could Fly", and "Big Black Monster". A late summer release is expected.
