SCORPIONS Open World Cup Tournament

According to Launch Radio Networks, the SCORPIONS were on hand in their home city of Hannover, Germany, yesterday (Wednesday, June 7) to help kick off soccer's World Cup. The group performed as part of the official opening ceremonies in what's being called the FAN FESTival, under the motto "Your Game, Your Friends, Your Place." Also on the bill were fellow German acts HEINZ RUDOLF KUNZE & BAND, FURY IN THE SLAUGHTERHOUSE, and MOUSSE T. WITH EMMA LANFORD AND ANDREW ROACHFORD. The World Cup games begin Friday (June 9),when Germany takes on Costa Rica and Poland goes against Ecuador. The U.S. team opens their play on Monday (June 12th) against the Czech Republic. The World Cup championship game will be played in Berlin on July 9.

The SCORPIONS have got four North American shows beginning June 30 in Costa Mesa California. Two of the dates are with THIN LIZZY.
