SCAR SYMMETRY: 'Noumenon & Phenomenon' Video Released

October 7, 2009

"Noumenon & Phenomenon", the new video from Swedish progressive melodic death metallers SCAR SYMMETRY, can be viewed below. The clip was shot with director Maurice Swinkels (of the Dutch metal band LEGION OF THE DAMNED).

Commented SCAR SYMMETRY drummer Henrik Ohlsson: "We shot the video at two locations here in Sweden; the first one was basically a photo studio and the second location was... get ready now... an abandoned and haunted insane asylum!"

Added Swinkels: "[It] was great meeting up with the SCAR SYMMETRY guys again since I produced their very first, one of the 'The Illusionist' videos as well. We had two locations, one was shot with green screen, one was an old mental hospital which was actually near the studio of Peter Tägtgren [HYPOCRISY, PAIN]! Very cool!"

"Noumenon & Phenomenon" comes off SCAR SYMMETRY's new album, "Dark Matter Dimensions", which was released on October 2 via Nuclear Blast Records.

"Dark Matter Dimensions" track listing:

01. The Iconoclast
02. The Consciousness Eaters
03. Noumenon And Phenomenon
04. Ascension Chamber
05. Mechanical Soul Cybernetics
06. Nonhuman Era
07. Dark Matter Dimensions
08. Sculpture Void
09. A Paranthesis In Eternity
10. Frequencyshifter
11. Radiant Strain

"Noumenon & Phenomenon" was released as a digital download single on September 18, backed by "Nonhuman Era".

SCAR SYMMETRY parted ways with singer Christian Älvestam last year due to "business and creative differences and lack of interpersonal chemistry." The band explained at the time, "We came to a point where the band's existence was in jeopardy because of these differences, and the only way for us to continue with an inspired state of mind was to go through with this change in the lineup."

Christian has since been replaced by Roberth Karlsson (lead growl vocals and backing clean vocals) and Lars Palmqvist (lead clean vocals and backing growl vocals).

SCAR SYMMETRY's last album, "Holographic Universe", debuted at No. 33 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.
