SAURON Finish Recording New Album

April 23, 2004

Dutch black metallers SAURON have completed the recording sessions for their second full-length album, "For A Dead Race", tentatively due in September through Neurotic Records. Mixing and mastering sessions are scheduled to take place next week.

The follow-up to 2003's "Universe Of Filth" was recorded at Double Noise Studio and is said to be "more mature, more diverse and most of all more angry" than its predecessor, according to the group. "Expect eight devastating black metal tracks with a variety of tempo changes."

"For A Dead Race" track listing:

01. For A Dead Race
02. Salvation's Call
03. The Pestilential March
04. Scars Of Existence
05. Anima Mundi
06. Prey To Destruction
07. Deliverance In Blood
08. Dominions Of The Past

If everything goes well, there will be an LP version released in 2005 with additional artwork and a bonus track.

SAURON have previously performed live with such acts as DESTROYER 666, CARPATHIAN FOREST, SATYRICON, IMMOLATION, and DERANGED, and are tentatively due to embark on a mini-tour with BEHEMOTH and NAGLFAR later this year.
