SATYRICON: Video Interview With Drummer FROST Posted Online

June 26, 2006

A six-minute video interview with SATYRICON drummer Frost, conducted on Friday, June 23 prior to the band's appearance at the Graspop Metal Meeting in Dessel, Belgium, has been posted online at YouTube.com.

As previously reported, SATYRICON will reissue their 1999 album, "Rebel Extravaganza", on July 25. The record will be remixed and feature three bonus tracks: "Nemesis Divina (Clean Version Mix)" and "Blessed From Below (Melancholy Oppression Longing)", as well as a cover of SARCOFAGO's "I.N.R.I."

Sony Music in Norway has revealed that "The Pentagram Burns" will be launched this summer as the second SATYRICON single taken from the band's latest album, "Now, Diabolical".

"Now, Diabolical" debuted at No. 2 on the national Norwegian chart and also charted in Sweden and Finland. The album sold around 1,700 copies in the United States in its first week of release — around one-tenth of the total number of units (15,000) shifted by the band's last effort, "Volcano", which came out in the U.S. in 2004.

"Volcano" — which received the Norwegian Grammy for "Best Metal Album", the Alarm Award for "Song Of The Year" (for track "Fuel For Hatred") plus "Metal Album Of The Year", and also the Oslo Award for "Best Overall Album" — entered the Norwegian national album chart at No. 4.
