SATYRICON To Perform Live On Norwegian National Radio

March 28, 2006

Norwegian black metallers SATYRICON have posted the following message on their official web site:

"[On Wednesday, April 5] We will play a one hour show live on Norwegian national radio in front of a live audience of about 100 people (that's all they can squeeze in there!) which are competition winners, members of the press and other guests. Transmission of the show starts at 6:03 p.m. [Mainman] Satyr will answer questions from the studio audience at aproximately 6:35 p.m. The concert will start at 6:55p.m. and will be over at 7:55 p.m.

"To hear the concert on the Internet, simply log on to www.nrk.no/p3 in the upper left column click 'Nettradio' and a pop-up window will appear with a stream of the show. Another way is to click the 'Nettradio' button in the green field below the top banner."

In other news, Sony BMG will release a limited-edition single of SATYRICON's "K.I.N.G" (mp3) for the Norwegian market only this coming Monday, April 3. It will contain an exclusive bonus track, entitled "Storm (of the Destroyer)". The video for "K.I.N.G" will be shot in London on Thursday.

As previously reported, SATYRICON's new album, "Now, Diabolical", is due in Europe on April 24 (via Sony/BMG in Norway and Roadrunner Records in the rest of the continent) and the U.S. on June 13 via Century Media Records.

"Now, Diabolical" was mixed in Vancouver, Canada with Mike Fraser (METALLICA, AC/DC) and is described by SATYRICON mainman Satyr as "a deeper dive in the abyss than ever before. [The album] is a catchy and aggressive record with a pitch-black heart. I think this is the kind of record that we and our supporters in America need to help steer the direction that no one has really set yet 'over there.' America has produced some of the greatest metal bands of all time, yet black metal has very much been a European phenomena until now. It is gradually tightening its grip on the American metal scene and we want to be a part of it just like we were when it started in Europe."

"Now, Diabolical" track listing:

01. Now, Diabolical
02. K.I.N.G
03. The Pentagram Burns
04. A New Enemy
05. The Rite Of Our Cross
06. That Darkness Shall Be Eternal
07. Delirium
08. To The Mountains

The vinyl version of the album will include a bonus track called "Storm (of the Destroyer)".

SATYRICON's last album, the acclaimed "Volcano" (2002),received the Norwegian Grammy for "Best Metal Album", the Alarm Award for "Song Of The Year" (for track "Fuel For Hatred") plus "Metal Album Of The Year", and also the Oslo Award for "Best Overall Album". "Volcano" debuted at #4 on the Norwegian national album chart.
