SATYRICON To Perform At Oslo's VG LISTA TOPP 20

June 15, 2006

Norwegian black metallers SATYRICON have posted the following message on their official web site:

"We just got back from England after playing the main stage of Download [festival] at Donington Park on Saturday in front of over 50,000 people. Too short, but still very sweet we felt and that is what all the fans we met told us as well. We can't wait to come back to the U.K in September! That is when we kick off our European tour anyway, so now you know.

"We also won the Metal Hammer Golden Gods Award in the category for 'Best Underground Band'. This one was voted by the fans, so it actually means something to the band, not only to our business partners. We would like to thank our fans in the U.K., the Roadrunner staff and Metal Hammer magazine.

"SATYRICON will perform 'K.I.N.G.' LIVE at VG lista Topp 20 at Rådhusplassen in Oslo tomorrow at 22.40 sharp. It is expected that this multi-artist event will draw between 40 and 70,000 people. Get your ass down there if you live in town. It's free. For those of you who can't see us play the song as a part of the audience at Rådhusplassen, you can watch it on live on NRK1."

As previously reported, Sony Music in Norway has revealed that "The Pentagram Burns" will be launched this summer as the second SATYRICON single taken from the "Now, Diabolical" album.

"Now, Diabolical" debuted at No. 2 on the national Norwegian charts and also charted in Sweden and Finland. The album's first single, "K.I.N.G.", released in April, hit the Norwegian singles charts at No. 7.

"Now, Diabolical" is the follow-up to 2002's "Volcano", which received the Norwegian Grammy for "Best Metal Album", the Alarm Award for "Song Of The Year" (for track "Fuel For Hatred") plus "Metal Album Of The Year", and also the Oslo Award for "Best Overall Album". "Volcano" debuted at No. 4 on the Norwegian national album chart.
