SAMMY HAGAR Hoping For Peaceful Night At ROCK HALL Induction

March 5, 2007

Launch Radio Networks reports: VAN HALEN will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame one week from tonight (Monday, March 12),and there's still some question as to who's going to attend the ceremony. Singers David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar and former bassist Michael Anthony will all be there, and now Eddie and Alex Van Halen have reserved a table for themselves and their families, according to Premiere Radio Network. However, there is still some doubt that the Van Halen brothers will actually be at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel.

Either way, there are still no plans for the band to perform. VELVET REVOLVER will take the stage in their place, with frontman Scott Weiland and guitarist Slash doing the actual induction speech for VAN HALEN.

Hagar told Launch that he wants everything to go smoothly on the night, but he understands it might not. "I have my hopes and my fears, and my hopes are really that, you know, everyone's just respectful of each other, and happy for each other, and give credit where credit's due, that, you know, none of us would be there, probably, without each other," he said. "And hopefully, everybody's really happy and respectful, and (we) try to make a great thing out of it. And somebody trying to take the credit over someone else would be a bummer. That's my fear, is that, you know, it turns into an ugly thing, and there's an argument, and, you know, (we) start slinging hash at each other."
