[S1FT] To Change Name, Return With 'Crushing' New Material

October 21, 2002

San Francisco Bay Area's [S1FT], who feature in their ranks DEATH ANGEL touring guitarist Ted Aguilar (filling in for D.A.'s Gus Pepa, who is unable to take part in the reunion shows),are in the process of changing their name before returning to the live circuit in early 2003 with a "FUCKING CRUSHING set of new tunes" and a possible record deal, according to the band's official web site.

"We've been demoing some new songs in the good ol sweaty rehearsal studio," reads the band's most recent posting on the site. "It sounds HUGE & HEAVY!!!!!. [Vocalist] Chris [Dinsmore] & [keyboardist] Brett [Crane] are laying down the vocals this week & then we mix the fucker!!! There has been some label interest. Nothing big, nothing small, but very exciting for us. We'll keep you all updated.

"We're in the process of changing the band name. Due to legal issues beyond our control, we decided it would be in our best interest to do so. We have a few ideas floating around, but nothing has stuck in our heads yet. We have a few more shows left & we're on a little vacation until the New Year. Vacation meaning a break from the live circuit, writing truck loads of new material, establishing a new band name, designing a new website & new merchandise. While we are on this little vacation, Ted will break away for a little bit to play a few shows with DEATH ANGEL in Northern/Southern California & South America.

"Expect to see us in the New Year with a new name, new site & a FUCKING CRUSHING set of new tunes. Thanks to all who supported. See you at the shows!!!!"
