RUSH Drummer Fascinated By Religious Signage; Topic To Be Reflected On New Album

Launch Radio Networks reports: Faith and how people express it are among the themes that will be featured on the next RUSH album. Drummer and lyricist Neil Peart was influenced to write about these topics while on the band's 30th anniversary tour in 2004, when he rode his motorcycle from show to show instead of traveling by bus or plane with bandmates Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson. While on the highways and byways of America, Peart began to notice lots of signs with religious messages, and he told the Metro Toronto newspaper, "Part of it is just me reporting, but I'm also overwhelmed by the spiritual landscape of America. But it got me thinking so carefully at how much we need to look for the positives in life. Too often we put up an armor to protect us from all the bad."

Peart included some of the stories in his recent book "Roadshow: Landscape With Drums: A Concert Tour By Motorcycle".

The RUSH album is expected this year, with a tour to follow, though no definitive dates have been announced.
