Revamped THE EXALTED PILEDRIVER Back On The HEADBANGERS OPEN AIR Bill

June 4, 2009

Lead vocalist Gord "The Exalted Piledriver" Kirchin of the Canadian cult metal band THE EXALTED PILEDRIVER (a.k.a. PILEDRIVER) has announced that the group is back on the billing of this year's Headbangers Open Air festival, set to take place July 23-25, 2009 in in Brande-Hörnerkirchen, Germany. Additional headlining appearances have been scheduled for July 18 at Perth Metal Meltdown in Ontario, and August 29 at St. Nicolas Open Air metal festival in Quebec. "I've made some temporary but potent repairs, and the PILE machine is fired up and running wild for the summer!" he said.

THE EXALTED PILEDRIVER's new lineup includes Rev. Tom Cheapness on guitar, Steele McFearsome on bass and Hank Momscraper on drums.

A full-scale 2010 European tour is in the works, as well as a possible South American trek.

THE EXALTED PILEDRIVER's first album in 22 years, "Metal Manifesto", was released on November 18, 2008. The CD was mixed by veteran Neil Kernon (CANNIBAL CORPSE, NEVERMORE) and it follows up the classic cult discography of the band: "Metal Inquisition" (1985) and "Stay Ugly" (1986).
