Reunited Bay Area Thrashers DEFIANCE Seek Session Drummer

April 14, 2005

Reunited San Francisco Bay Area thrashers DEFIANCE are currently looking for a drummer to join the group in the studio for some session work this summer. "While we would really like Matt [Vander Ende] to continue to work with us, it is looking more and more like we need to recruit a local talent for the sessions due to Matt's involvement in a nationwide theatrical tour," the band write in a statement. Interested parties can contact the group at [email protected].

In other news, the 1993 INNER THRESHOLD demo (which was, essentially, DEFIANCE with Dave White from HEATHEN on vocals) has just been re-mastered and made available for download on DEFIANCE's web site. The recordings were produced and mixed by Rob Beaton (HEATHEN, DEFIANCE). INNER THRESHOLD played together from 1993 through 1995 before changing their name to UNDER. Check out the INNER THRESHOLD demo at this location.

DEFIANCE released three albums through the Roadrunner label — 1989's "Product of Society", 1990's "Void Terra Firma", and 1992's "Beyond Recognition" — before undergoing major lineup changes and changing their name. The group eventually split up, with various bandmembers going on to join other bands.
