REDEMPTION: DVD Title, Release Dates Announced

December 22, 2008

REDEMPTION — the Los Angeles-based progressive metal band led by guitarist/songwriter Nicolas van Dyk and featuring vocal legend Ray Alder of FATES WARNING — has set "Frozen in the Moment: Live in Atlanta" as the title of its new concert DVD, which will be released on the following dates:

Germany, Austria and Switzerland: February 27, 2009
Rest of Europe: March 2, 2009
North America: March 3, 2009

The disc will contain a five-camera, high-definition shoot of the band's ProgPower USA VIII festival appearance in Atlanta, Georgia in October 2007.

The track listing is as follows:

01. Threads
02. Bleed Me Dry
03. Nocturnal
04. Memory
05. The Suffocating Silence
06. Release
07. Fall On You
08. Sapphire
09. The Death of Faith & Reason

In addition, there will be a 12-minute video and photo tour diary set to the band's previously unreleased instrumental from the DREAM THEATER songwriting contest that REDEMPTION wrote back in 2003. According to the band, there will also be some funny outtakes "which will be embarrassing to us and pretty damn funny to all of you."

REDEMPTION is hard at work on material for its fourth album which is tentatively expected before next summer. According to the group, "there will be between 8 and 10 tracks, and they range from heavy to epic, with the signature REDEMPTION sense of musical urgency to them."

REDEMPTION's video for the song "Bleed Me Dry" can be viewed below.

Nicolas van Dyk previously stated about the clip: "The video was directed by Marcos Efron, an extremely talented up-and-coming director known for his with on videos (including one for the artist JEWEL) and short films, with Chris Johnson as director of photography. The video mixes stylized shots of the band performing (like the silhouette of Bernie shown below) with conceptual footage of a woman attempting to break free of her bonds and escape a prison-like existence."

REDEMPTION released its third CD, "The Origins of Ruin", in April 2007 via InsideOut Music. The CD follows up 2005's breakthrough release "The Fullness of Time", the band's first with FATES WARNING frontman Ray Alder, which generated tremendous critical and popular acclaim.
