REBEL MEETS REBEL Featuring DIMEBAG, VINNIE PAUL, REX BROWN: Audio Available

January 18, 2006

REBEL MEETS REBEL, the project featuring three of the founding members of PANTERA (Vinnie Paul, "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott and bassist Rex Brown) together with legendary country singer/outlaw David Allan Coe, have launched their official web site at www.rebelmeetsrebel.com.

Described as a unique crossover of country, metal and rock, REBEL MEETS REBEL's self-titled CD was recorded and mixed over a four-year period (1999-2003) at Chasin Jason studios in Dalworthington Gardens, Texas and is set to contain a total of 12 tracks, including "Nothin' To Lose", "No Compromise", "Rebel Meets Rebel", "Cowboys", "Panfilo", "Heartworn Highway", "One Night Stand", "Arizona Rivers", "A Man With Nothin' Ain't Got Nothin' to Lose", "New York City Streets" and "Get Outta My Life". Audio samples of five songs are currently available on the site.

"Rebel Meets Rebel" will be the first release through Vinnie Paul's Big Vin Records, which has secured a distribution deal via Fontana. An April 4 release is expected.

Commented Vinnie Paul: "Dime loved this record!!! David, Rex and I are fulfilling his dreams and adding to his incredible legacy by bringing the music we made together to you. It's not metal and it's not country. It's just a get-together of country metal minds!!! Pure hell-raisin', boozin', jammin' fun!!!!"

Added Rex: "Strange enough, this classic work was made out of Dime's love of everything from a country legend to what we did best — tear-ya-face-off metal!!! Sit back, enjoy and listen to two rebels meetin' up face to face in one great shootout!!! Dime forever!!!"

David Allan Coe stated: "REBEL MEETS REBEL is and was the first collaboration of the fusion of different musical genres of such extreme measures. It's a shame it took so long to be released and in the meantime other people get credit for doing what we did first! But we know! GARTH BROOKS and METALLICA gets credit for it. But we are the 'REAL DEAL' as they say. We are 'The Outlaws From Hell'. That's for real....In memory of Dimebag — I LOVE YOU."

According to Vinnie, a possibility exists that a touring version of REBEL MEETS REBEL will hit the road this summer. Fans are invited to cast a vote on the site to make the tour a reality.

As previously reported, the second project to be released via Big Vin will be a DVD, "Dimevision", as a tribute to Dimebag, one of metal's all-time guitar greats who is credited by some for creating the original concept which eventually became the MTV hit series "Jackass". "Dimevision" features Dime's stellar guitar playing and offbeat brand of humor, and is sure to be a title every serious PANTERA fan will have to own.
