Rare THIN LIZZY Video To Be Screened This Weekend

September 3, 2004

Ciaran O'Neill of The Belfast Telegraph is reporting that rare video footage of legendary Irish band THIN LIZZY will be screened for the first time at a special event in Londonderry this weekend.

The video will be shown during a THIN LIZZY/Phil Lynott tribute concert at the Nerve Centre on Saturday.

The guest of honour at the event will be Phil Lynott's mother Philomena.

Proceeds from the concert will be used to help with the costs of erecting a statue in honour of the famous singer in Dublin.

The campaign for the statue is being co-ordinated by the Roisin Dubh (Black Rose) Trust, which was set up in 1994 to commemorate Lynott's life.

Dublin City Council has already given its backing to the new statue, which is to be located at Harry Street, near Grafton Street.

The overall cost of erecting the statue, which could be in place by the end of the year, is expected to be approximately €80,000. Read more.
