QUIET RIOT Enlist Former Frontman To Fill In For Flu-Stricken KEVIN DUBROW

August 22, 2002

QUIET RIOT have enlisted former frontman Paul Shortino (i.e. ROUGH CUTT) to fill in on vocals at several Oklahoma and Texas dates after singer Kevin DuBrow came down with the flu, thus preventing him from being able to make the scheduled shows.

"[Kevin] was unable to make a festival date last week in Omaha, NE even though we were not aware of his illness and found out only after going to Omaha, and then returning back to Los Angeles," drummer Frankie Banali told Metal Sludge. "Unfortunately, he had also missed two additional festival dates the week prior to the Omaha event due to having been involved in an automobile accident which he was not the driver, but a passenger. Being unsure of his 100% recovery as well as not wanting the slightest possibility of additional cancellation of dates, and having dates on the calendar that contractually needed to be fulfilled, [guitarist] Carlos [Cavazo] suggested that we use Paul (Shortino) who he has kept in contact with over the years, to fulfill our commitments.

"It is my personal desire that Kevin has a quick recovery so that he can continue with the QUIET RIOT touring schedule. We have a very full calendar of dates in 2003 and his participation, to me, is essential."

Among the QUIET RIOT dates that will feature Paul Shortino in the vocalist slot are the following:

Aug. 22 - Oklahoma City, OK @ Classic Rock Cafe
Aug. 23 - Dallas, TX @ Canyon Club
Aug. 24 - Tulsa, OK @ Block Party
